A Fachan by Brian Froud, scanned from Faeries. Fachans were a type of Fuath, a class of malevolent solitary Fairies in Scottish folklore. The Fuathann inhabited remote regions of the Highlands, usually bodies of water or abandoned buildings. Several varieties were described as one-legged, but the Fachan was distinct in being also one-armed and one-eyed.
